Low Current / Electrical Engineer – Required Qualifications & Competencies

We are looking for a qualified Low Current / Electrical Engineer with strong technical experience and hands-on capability in operating and maintaining systems within large-scale or university facilities.

1. Technical Experience & Domain Expertise

• Proven experience in operation and maintenance activities in major facilities, with strong exposure to Building Management Systems (BMS) and control systems.

• Solid knowledge and practical experience in Low Current Systems, including:

• Fire Alarm Systems (Addressable & Conventional)

• CCTV & Surveillance Systems

• Access Control & Door Monitoring

• Public Address (PA) Systems

• Data Networks & Structured Cabling

• Intrusion Detection & Security Systems

• Strong understanding of VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) operation, troubleshooting, and parameter configuration.

• Familiar with electrical and mechanical interfaces related to low current and facility systems.

2. Operational Capability

• Ability to lead day-to-day site operations and ensure workflow efficiency.

• Skilled in diagnosing faults, responding to alarms, and resolving issues promptly to ensure business continuity.

• Competent in conducting field inspections, verifying system performance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

3. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Strong supervisory skills with the ability to manage technicians and monitor work quality.

• Ability to coordinate effectively with university administration and internal stakeholders.

4. Reporting & Documentation

• Proficient in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly technical reports, including maintenance summaries and incident logs.

• Capable of maintaining accurate documentation for system updates and site activities.

5. Soft Skills & Professional Conduct

• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

• High level of responsibility, commitment, and adherence to deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving attitude with proactive identification of risks and improvement opportunities.
